If Carlsberg did festivals…
One of the best local festivals around hits Parkstone in a few days and those lovely people at grooves have given us two pairs of tickets to give away.
Entering is easy, simply go to our competition page here and follow the instructions. We'll be drawing it in the day before the festival.
Grooves has an excellent line up as always with headliners The Baker Brothers and Mutant Vinyl appearing on the main stage.
Saturday on the main stage is headlined by The Baker Brothers and they are ably supported by a host of the best in Dorset Live Music.
Picking the best out of the line up put together by Connie is a difficult one but we'll be making sure we catch the magnificent Kaia and her band. One of the hottest tips for the top she improves every time we see her.
Afro Tallawah bring with them a mixture of influences from around the world which produces music with a wild mixture of sounds and rhythms. They are great to photograph too!
Sunday sees a couple of our local favourites in the main arena; Fearne should need no introduction to locals as they have built up quite a following with their top quality mixture of heart rending lyrics and wonderful tunes. Wikkaman are always good fun for people who look for something different. Folky but with a performance that is a real bonus for photographers these guys will certainly entertain.
Headlined by Mutant Vinyl the main stage also sees one of our finds of the last year in Duveax. We're looking forward to seeing this excellent Isle of Wight band.
On the second stage Grooves have a great selection of bands chosen by readers of the Daily Echo. Although the current line up hasn't been announced we're looking forward to Power Thief on Saturday and the awesomely fun Mother Ukers on Sunday.
As if that's not enough to get you interested then they also have a fine selection of beers, food, a kiddies play area and all sort of other stuff going on. It's one of our favourite festivals because of the brilliant chilled out vibe around the place and the fact that kids can be allowed to play without parents worrying about where they are.
Go on have a go at our competition - you never know!
But if you don't win then do not fret, tickets are actually very reasonably priced making the weekend a very good value event. Check out more about Grooves here http://www.groovesonthegreen.co.uk/
