Sitting in the heart of Charminster this traditional pub boasts live bands most nights of the weekends and is regularly rammed making a trip to the bar a lengthy experience.
This is a classic 30s pub with a large open area although getting anywhere near the band always proves hazardous when a popular act is on. The beer is OK being the standard pub chain fare and they have started doing a decent menu.
The landlords at the Fiveways have also spent a considerable amount of money doing up the outside seating area with gazebos and wooden seating and a nicely featured landscaped wall. It’s always a popular place to sit on a sunny evening with a swift half before home time. There’s parking on site too (if you’re early} but it’s easy to find a spot in the many side roads and there’s even a handily placed bus stop right outside the door.
